Pres Romanillos
Disney & DreamWorks Animator, Pres Romanillos, has suffered a relapse of leukemia and is in the hospital awaiting a repeat bone marrow transplant.
The animation community, Pres’ wife Jeannine & Kevin Koch have banned together to put together a fund-raising auction in June (information below) however, Pres needs blood and platelets urgently…
- Update
CALL FOR BLOOD AND PLATELETS:
Because of the chemotherapy Pres is undergoing, he needs a constant supply of blood and platelets.
You can help by donating.
The need for platelets is especially great. Any blood type can donate platelets directly for Pres, you simply need to be an eligible donor (please check the eligibility requirements below). Platelet donation takes approximately 2 – 2.5 hours and MUST be done at the City of Hope.
You can do that by calling City of Hope at 626-471-7171 or 626-301-8385 and scheduling an appointment (appointments available M,T 10-6, W 8-3, Th, F, Sat 6-1:45). City of Hope is in Duarte, just east of Pasadena.
If you’re type O- or O+, (and you are an eligible blood donor), you can donate blood directly for Pres.
This may be done either at the City of Hope (OR at a City of Hope mobile dispensed unit, *IF one is set up at your studio especially for Pres).
Blood donation is only about an hour.
*PLEASE SPECIFY THAT YOUR DONATION IS FOR PRES ROMANILLOS.

The Animation Guild Office (TAG):
C/O Pres-Aid
1105 N. Hollywood Way
Burbank, CA 91505
There will be a reception & exhibition on Friday, June 4th of artwork to be auctioned (for anyone interested in coming together for Pres/donating/purchasing/becoming a part of the bone marrow registry…) @ the TAG office: 1105 N. Hollywood Way, Burbank, CA 91505
The live auction will be held Sunday, June 14th @ the TAG office….
Online auction information TBA.
Change in Live Auction date to Sunday, June 20
Because of the volume and quality of pieces that have just arrived, and continue to arrive, we’re forced to delay the live auction one week, from Sunday, June 13 to Sunday, June 20. The Reception and Silent Auction will still be Friday evening, June 4.
I sincerely apologize for the confusion this might create, especially since a couple of hundred flyers were given out last week with the wrong date. I’ve had new flyers and posters printed up, and we’ll do our best to make sure we adequately advertise the new date. My estimate is that we’ll end up with around 200 pieces for the auction. Many of the best pieces are just arriving, and we need time to prepare them and write them up.
Again, the Reception and Silent Auction will be Friday, June 4, and the Live Auction will be Sunday, June 20. Both will take place at The Animation Guild building at 1105 N. Hollywood Way in Burbank. There will also be some pieces listed on eBay in early June, and I’ll have more on that when those items are ready to be listed.
